best 7.1 speaker system for pc image

I have a PS3 plugged into an HDTV through HDMI. I have a surround sound (7.1) system made for PC's with multichannel analog output. The sound system's hub takes four 3.5mm sound inputs. Is there some kind of conversion box of cable that can allow me to take a digital (optical) output and convert it into multichannel analog?
I have done extensive searches online and had little luck.

You need an actual surround sound decoder/receiver that can take an optical audio input.
Your PC speakers are just that - speakers. They need to plug into a receiver/decoder as well - namely the sound card in your computer.
You may be able to find an external 5.1 decoder for a PC, but most also come with their own speakers. These run around $300. While you can use these for your PS3, computer speakers aren't designed to produce the same volume as a normal set of speakers.

battle field bad company 2, gta iv or crysis are more demanding.

4-6gb ddr3 ram.
