Marmar

I was just wondering if you can hook an ipod into the cinemate 1 SR home theater speaker system??If so does it just hook up or do you need to buy a certain cord for this to work?

Answer
If there isn't a 3.5mm INPUT jack, buy a 3.5mm to RCA two channel cord if it has red and white RCA audio INPUT jacks.

Should all the speakers on a home theater system emit sounds?

Synergy9

I have the Coby 5.1 Channel home theater speaker system. I hooked it up but I only hear sound from the front left and front right speakers. Should I be hearing sound from the center and surround left and right speakers as well?

Answer
all depends on what settings are on. there should be a button on the actual reciever and the remote to switch the different types of sound that could be played and what speakers are to be used. ALTHOUGH, the reason you may have all of the speakers activated and you only hear audio from the from front left, middle, and front right, is because the channel or movie that you are playing does not have 5.1 audio. meaning only the front will work and possibly the back but it will play the exact same audio as the front only a lot quieter. every movie is now made at least 5.1 so no worries with that. television channels do not ALL include 5.1, but some may!

hope that helped a little!

Whats the difference between the ipod touch 2G and 3G?

I'm getting a 2G because the 3G is too expensive for me. But what is the difference between the two? And also, can the 2G play music without headphones?

Answer
There are some differences between the second generation iPod touch and the third generation iPod touch, primarily related to performance. Both have an external speaker and can play music without headphones. An independent comparison explains all the differences:
http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/consumer_electronics/ipod_faq/differences-between-ipod-touch-3g-and-ipod-touch-2g.html

The 32 GB and 64 GB configurations of the third generation iPod touch also fully support iOS 4, whereas the second generation iPod touch (and 8 GB third generation iPod touch) does not fully support the latest operating system:

How do i change the keyboard design for my ipod touch?

soldier 1s

My ipod touch is a second gen jailbroken itouch running firmware 3.0

I go to cydia/icy and download the keyboard designs such as krystal black but when i go to winterboard and check it, then respring my ipod the keyboard doesnt change. How do I make the keyboard design change?

Answer
Simple Buy an iPod touch 3g!! it will have a landscape keyboard!

it will probably come out around September 10, but will not have a flash because i read about the miniature cameras they ordered and they do NOT have flash. That is when Apple releases their new line of products... So it's not that long of a wait, Apple hasn't released any information, or even that it's coming out! but that doesn't mean that there's not evidence!

1) Apple ordered $10.00 miniature camera's, WAY to many to be for the iPhone's! The company that they ordered them from said that they ordered enough that they have to be installing them into the new iPod Touch 3g. They also said they might be putting them into the iPod Video, and iPod Nano 5g!

2)It is believed that Apple has also build in a microphone for those "skype" users, that basically eliminates the need for a home phone!

3) Other associated companies have started building and selling the new apple iPod 3g cases, and YES there is a camera whole, and it is not photo shopped because there is a video of someone who got one.

Some other rumors are that the iPod Touch 3g will include:

- A GPS system with i built in chip

-16 - 32 - 64 GB of storage.

-better WiFi

-HD video quality

-Better resolution

-Louder / Clearer external speaker

-Availability in different colors

* The Most important thing you should know is that Apple has NOT said ANYTHING about the iPod Touch 3g, They have not even said that there will be one, but that is not unusual for apple to do, like ALL the other Apple iPods the iPod Touch 3g will be released in early - mid September!

I have 2 4 x 6 speakers in the front one on each door panel, and 2 6 x 9 speakers in the back on the rear deck. I plan on buying the speakers and installing them myself because best buy and circuit city charge too much for installation plus I wanna learn. I need to know step by step how would I go about installing my new speaker system in my 1991 Chevy beretta???

Answer
get some panel removing tools, or be very careful with a screwdriver, u need to remove the panels to access the speakers, most likely take out the back seat to access the rear decks, also need the wiring adapters for the new speakers to clip into the old connections, if u have any more q's, hit up crutchfield.com they have the absolute best support for car audio i know

I am getting a 2008 Dodge Caliber. Should I get it in Stone White or Steel Blue Metallic? Which looks better?

Rennat

Plus, I am getting the SXT, and I am trying to stay under $22,000. Also, is it worth the money to buy the 9 Boston Speaker System?

Answer
Steel Blue Metallic looks better, I think. Plus, it's probably alot easier to keep clean. (I was considering getting a Caliber awhile ago, and I loved the Steel Blue Metallic color)

As for the 9 Boston Speaker System, I would think that the standard sound system would put out plenty of sound, unless you really like to crank up the volume like extreeemely loud. Plus the Boston System is like $495, if I remember right.

Ok, so as i said im throwing my friend a surprise birthday party and i want to watch a movie outside i have the projector and im going to use my laptop to play the movie through but it just hit me that we wont be able to hear it without speakers. What kind of speakers would work? Computer speakers? I have no clue. Nothing expensive im already putting out a lot of money.

Answer
The computer speakers may seem loud enough indoors, but once you get outdoors these speakers can limit your sound quality. Make sure you get a good set of speakers and "el cheapos".

Although once the answers on here is correct. You will need a set of surround sound computer speakers. I am not recommending the set below, but it is an example of what you need.

What is a good computer to purchase for the following uses?

Allison J

I use Microsoft Word pretty often, and use Kodak easy share frequently. Other than that I check my email or do research on the web, and I like to download music. That is really all I use it for. I want to find a relatively cheap computer that will work well for these things (mine is old and bogged down). Any advice? Thanks.

Answer
Laptop or Desktop?

The most demanding thing on your computer is the operating system, Vista home Premium. You may want a larger hard drive for your music / picture files.

New Desktop Computer Checklist:
Vista home premium (do not get Vista Basic)
Dual processor (any)
1-2 GB RAM (2 GB much better) with 2 memory slots free
DVD/ CD burner with dual layer DVD capability
Integrated Audio OK
Integrated Video OK but make sure it has a PCI Express X16 slot to allow upgrading video later.
200 GB hard drive or larger for your music/ picture files
10/100 Ethernet port (pretty much standard)

Dimension E521 $699

AMD Athlon⢠64 X2 Dual-Core 3800+ 2GB RAM 250 GB Hard drive
Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio No speakers

Speakers
Logitech X-230 32 watts RMS 2.1 Black Speaker System $33.99

Q. It happened when i tried to update it from the firmware they had on the samsung website so i hooked my usb up to the system and i did'nt know that the update did not finish so i pulled the usb out and after that my speakers won't work or anything no more the power still comes on but there are no sound and it wont read anything and no display on screen can someone help me out? I called the samsung and they said i need to send it in but i don't wanna do that if there is something simple i can do to make it work again they told me when i pulled the usb out before the update was done i earased all the software in it.

Answer
Since you have a invalid bios then with there design it will not allow communications until this is remedied, the fix involves taking the eeprom for bios out an doing a manual flash is the only way to fix this.

You probably don't have the software or eeprom flasher to accomplish this. So your only option is to let the manufacture fix it.

How to change frequency response speakers?

After The

Hi, I was just wondering if this is possible to do, the plan was to take 6 of the same small speakers, use 3 each to make 2 3-way speakers. I was going to make the 3 into high, middle and low frequencies. Is this possible? Thanks.

Answer
What you need is called a crossover network. There are active and passive crossovers with active being placed prior to the amplifiers and passive being between the amplifier and the speakers.

Active crossovers are the easiest to design because they do not have to deal with non linear impedances. These however require you to have separate amplifiers for each frequency band. Also, "easier" yes but it requires a knowledge of analog circuit design and the components will be op-amps, resistors, and capacitors as opposed to primarily inductors and capacitors with a few resistors. Passive is simpler in that it does not require active devices like op-amps and power supplies but passive is far more complex in terms of the calculations to determine crossover frequency, slope etc. Also, passive can only approximate whereas active can be very precise.

There are generic passive crossovers but they can't work well because they can not predict the impedance curve or the frequency response of the speakers to be used. To design a crossover network properly you need a software package like LspCAD. (800 euro or about $1,100) You also need a measurement system, http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=390-790 for about $300. You really can not do it properly without such tools.

It isn't normal to use identical drivers with one being for low frequency, another mid and another high frequency. Normally the low frequency driver is much larger with more cone excursion, the tweeter is small with perhaps a dome instead of a cone and the midrange is something in between.

If you just want to learn about crossover design you can read about it on the Linkwitzlab web site... http://www.linkwitzlab.com/crossovers.htm

fosheezies

We're trying to arrange an outdoor video screening on a huge projector on a wall. We have basic 5 speaker setup stereo available, but we want to be able to wire additional speakers throughout the space (it's huge space so everything is pretty spaced out).

We want to avoid having to crank up the volume in on the main speakers (like a theater), so we rather do it drive-in movie style where each section gets their own speakers (wireless preferred).

Any ideas on setup or how to do this?

Answer
Get a Audio Unlimited transmitter set. It's on sale on Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002PHMGN0?ie=UTF8&tag=thebubrocpro-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002PHMGN0

Then get as many additional speakers as you need here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000YLKK0K?ie=UTF8&tag=thebubrocpro-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000YLKK0K

The speakers are even rated for outdoor use!

Where can I find an "idiots guide" to outdoor speaker installation?

Katherine

I don't even know where to start. I need to know what I need to do a full installation of an outdoor speaker stereo system. Questions I have range from: What kind of receiver do I need? How do the outdoor speakers hook up to a receiver that's inside? Do I need an outdoor volume controller? If so, how do I hook that up as well?

I really need "start from scratch" instruction guide. Please help.

Answer
Not sure where to find an Idiots Guide but can tell you what I did with outdoor speakers.
First, buy speakers that are suited for outdoor use. I mounted them under the overhang of the roof around the patio.
Lot's of choices on speakers, some are designed to look like large stones that you can place in a garden, etc.
I ran speaker wire to the inside where the audio equipment is located.
Have a Yamaha receiver that is hooked to the external speakers as well as the inside speakers, TV, VCR, etc.
The receiver has a speaker switch. You can select the speakers you want to use. It is like an A/B switch.
You can also buy wireless speakers. They will be more expensive and I am not sure how well they work.
You might go to Radio Shack and see what they carry in speakers. Have them draw out the hookups for you. I am not touting Radio Shack, any number of good stores handle audio equipment.
I would not want to invest a tremendous amount of money in exterior speakers. To many things can happen to them and you will not be able to tell the difference in sound quality outdoors, anyway.
Good luck

What is the difference between speaker systems?

KJ

This was brought to my attention in my last question. Is there much of a difference between Polk RM705 or the Polk RM6750 speaker systems. At polkaudio.com they are the same price but on other internet stores the 705s are more. Is there a reason to pay more for the 705s?

Answer
A given selling price on the same item can vary by a lot, depending on the specific circumstances of the seller.
It can also be that the power priced item is of last year's product lineup, and the higher priced item is of this year's lineup. Audio companies do also market based on year, just like car makers.

Last year I got a pair of Infinity Beta 50 floorstanding speakers, list price $500 each, for $180 each.
Other buyers whose reviews I read on line and who were very happy with them, had paid the $500 each price, and were happy for it. So, you can imagine that I was even happier for having paid over 60% less. I just got the best deal. Thats all.

In any case, since the two Polk systems are quite comparable in quality and performance, with the main difference being the styling, so if a price conscious person wants the best deal, and is happy with the appearance of the 6750 system, then thats clearly the best deal of the two.

On amazon, the 705 will run you about $445, and the 6750 will run $265. Both have list prices of $600. Plus, I like the look of the 6750s more, anyway.

Several Questions about the Kindle Fire?

speaker system for kindle fire
on kindle fire hd is available in 3 versions kindle fire
speaker system for kindle fire image

Uncle Penn

So I'm seriously looking at the Kindle Fire. I am already a Kindle 3 Keyboard owner.

1. Video on the Kindle Fire. I'm really worried about the small screen size not being satisfactory for watching videos. Seems like the iPad is a better size for that. If you own the Kindle Fire, what's your opinion of that?

2. Netflix - How does Netflix work on the Kindle Fire? Video quality good, no buffering issues?

3. Web Browsing - Really, same issue but even more so. Is the screen just too small for a good web browsing experience? I know this was a big problem on the Kindle 3, which is only slightly smaller.

4. Is the system for handling music pretty easy?

5. Can you easily shop the Amazon site for other things? Not just music, ebooks, and video, but all their stuff.

6. I presume it has a headphone jack. Can you confirm that?

Really, is there anything you think it does fantastically well, or conversely, could use improvement on?
To some folks recommending the iPad, Paying $500 for a tablet is NOT AN OPTION.

Answer
Let me preface this by saying I do not own a Fire, but I have researched them and few co-workers have fires.

1. Haven't seen video yet. But the size seems to be ok. The Fire's screen is 7 inches vs the iPad's 9.7inch screen. that's not a big difference. Having used an ipad here at work and looking at the Fire, I don't see much difference.

2. Haven't watched a netflix movie on the Fire, but I have watched it on my Droid X. The video quality is excellent. I did not see any buffering issues, but I was on 3g...the Fire doesn't have 3G so you're bound to the connection quality of whatever wifi hotspot you're connected to.

3. No problem viewing webpages. Again, there isn't that much of a difference.

4. itunes is one of the worst pieces of crapp I've ever encounterd. Buggy, laggy, and plain Sh1te. Amazon's cloud service is ok, I've haven't used it much, but it's well integrated to tne Android OS. The music is stored in Amazon's Cloud service, not on the device...so I can listen to the music on my Droid X, Fire (If I have one), my PC, or mac, or whatever computer I use to log into Amazon.com. That is infinitely more elegant that fraking iTunes' stupid authorization/Deauthorization crap.

5. Yes. Yes. YES!

6. yes. From Amazon's site: Audio 3.5 mm stereo audio jack, top-mounted stereo speakers. http://www.amazon.com/Kindle-Fire-Amazon-Tablet/dp/B0051VVOB2/ref=amb_link_358863762_7?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=00414TPZB2QMF7G4JMMF&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1331677582&pf_rd_i=507846

I have three issues which prevent me from buying a Fire...and these aren't a Fire vs iPad...because I don't like the iPad. First is the lack of 3g. I like that my Kindle keyboard is 3g...meaning I can buy books where ever there is cell phone service and I can surf as well. Second is it's weight. By itself, the fire weighs a bit more than my Kindle Keyboard with leather cover /w Light! Third and last, the screen. since I have a Droid X and a Laptop, I don't need the features of the Fire, or iPad for that matter. The Laptop is to cumbersome to read books on and take anywhere and the Droid X's screen while big, is not really comfortable to read books on especially the glare...which the Fire will have. I like my Kindle keyboard's e'Ink technology.

If I had to choose between the Kindle Keyboard and Fire, keyboard all the way. But if I absolutely have to choose between a Fire and iPad, the Fire and Amazon will get my money.

Kindle Fire or Nook? Which on has the edge?

Marvin - R

Kinda on the fence with this one. I'm thinking of buying an ereader for the wife.

Answer
I've seen both and they both seem nice. The Fire is slightly smaller and lighter, has better speakers, has a faster browser, comes with free cloud storage and is $50 cheaper. I would go with the Fire, unless she really likes the Nook bookstore.

I am looking to build a fairly expensive entertainment system for around $1500-$2000. I bought a little Sony DAV-DZ170 entertainment system in a box for $200 a couple months ago and It is time to step it up, but I need some help from all you audio experts out there. Anyone who can offer experience in any way would be gladly appreciated.

I will start by saying that I am pretty big into reviews, especially on Amazon. I wont even consider buying something that has less than 4 1/2 stars so the following equipment was chosen based solely on the 5 star reviews they have each received in their speaker category. The system I am looking at now comprises of:
Polk Audio PSW505 12-Inch Powered Subwoofer - $230 (5 Star Review w/ 702 Reviews)
Cerwin Vega VE5M Surround Speakers - $130 (5 Star Review w/ 23 Reviews)
Infinity Primus PC351 Center Channel Speaker - $200 (5 Star Review w/ 46 Reviews)
Martin Logan Motion 10 Floorstanding Speaker - $200 (5 Star Review w/ 16 Reviews)
Sony STR-DN840 1050-Watt A/V Receiver - $450 (5 Star Review w/ 3 Reviews)

I know that reviews aren't everything and that each speaker will sound amazing with its own signature qualities, but I do not want the combined sound to be disjointed with some speakers sounding to bright and others having a creamier delivery. I want my speakers to blend together into one delicious sound that will give those clean, crisp highs, those effortless mids, and those body shaking lows. Would i be better off to stick with one brand of speakers or take the best of different brands and see what happens? I would love to hear each speaker so I can decide with my own ears but obviously that is not possible with the local best buy carrying a pretty limited selection.

Tell me your favorite speaker you've ever bought. Not just the speaker that "Sounded great for the money". Or that sounded great until you upgraded to a different speaker. I want to know the speakers that you would buy over and over again because you have never heard another speaker that you liked better. Those are the the ones I am looking for. Thank you.

Answer
It is a horrible idea to mix different makes and models into your speaker array. If the sounds move from speaker to speaker you do not want them to tone-shift. The sound engineers who create the soundtracks assume you have 5 nearly identical speakers and they program sounds following this assumption.

Many good companies sell 5-speaker sets. The one difference is the Center speaker is usually in a MTM configuration (Midrange-Tweeter-Midrange). This is because the center speaker often contains most of the dialog and they want to 'fan' the sounds to a row of people sitting next to each other on a couch.

I like Amazon reviews as well - but ... you have to realize something.

Some people come from a music perspective. Many things are different with a movie soundtrack so it is almost better to treat Music systems and Movie systems as separate things.

Most of the "flame wars" I have seen where people argue about speakers or amps can be explained when one guy admits he listens mainly to music and the other guy mainly watches movies.

While I also read Amazon reviews - you have to take them with a grain-of-salt. I prefer the reviews in "Home Theater Magazine", Stereo Review, Widescreen Review. With Amazon - you never know if you are reading the review of a 15-year old who subsists on a steady diet of hip-hop or loved some speakers because they made his emo music ... depressing.

SPEAKER RULES

As you shop/consider/listen - remember this:

"Music is about accuracy. Home Theater is about impact".

We have seen where properly placed a budget-but-matched speaker system with a good subwoofer in the corner can give you a great movie experience. You do NOT have to buy the same brand subwoofer as the speakers. In fact - many of the great subwoofer companies did not start out making ordinary speakers.

SUBWOOFER

Look into SVS Woofers and HSU Research. These are mainly internet brands but are well respected and a great value. I own a SVS and it never fails to impress. The Bass is a physical presence in the room. My tower speakers have built-in powered subs, but they are turned off in favor of the single SVS sub near a corner.

For a home theater system - I suggest you anchor the speakers with a subwoofer first. (I know - "bass ackwards", but it works).

SPEAKERS

Look for speakers from companies that make speakers as their main business. Polk, Definitive, Boston, Energy, Atlantic Technology, B&W, etc

RECEIVER

Sony ... has gone downhill a lot. If the Receiver is not the "ES" series, avoid Sony.

Look into Denon, Yamaha and even Pioneer.

Onkyo won "Receiver of the Year" for two years running a few years ago. They cut back on power, but shoved Auto Calibration, Extra HDMI jacks, iPod and Sat Radio integration and other "bells" into receivers that started about $300. This forced the bigger companies to drop prices to compete. Receivers that were $800 years ago are now $400 thanks to this. They are considered a great value.

Personally: I like the RX-V series of receivers from Yamaha. Every one I ever bought (including ones that went to collage and returned with daughters) is still working. Thats 4 at last count.

MORE ADVICE:

You are shopping for a brand of beer or ice-cream you have to live with for 10 years. Take time to research, learn, then buy what sounds best to you for your budget and do not look back.

One over-looked part of this hobby is "Anticipation". Go grab some Home Theater magazines, look back at the end/start of the year for the "recommended" and "best of the year" articles. Give yourself 1-3 months to study, audition and learn so you make the best purchase for your budget.

Hope this helps.

Onkyo SKS-HT870 SKS-HT870 Home Theater Speaker System

Onkyo HT-RC260 7.2-Channel Home Theater Receiver

Is this speaker and receiver combination worth spending $620 on?
That's what I'd like to know. It received mostly positive reviews on amazon and New Egg, but I'm still not convinced.

Answer
The Onkyo HT- RC260 is a very good receiver, in fact I'm thinking of getting that one for my own system... you can get better speakers though than those Onkyo systems for less money take a look at the Fluance AV-HTB or the Jamo S 406 both sell for $199 and offer more sound....if your looking for a good receiver to keep the cost low, take a look at the Sherwood RD 7502 or the Sherwood DR 5405

Answer
a sum of money between $1 and $3000

What upgrades should I make to my truck?

aeagle stu

I'm 16 and have a 1997 GMC Sierra, and basically love it. However, I am not satisfied with the speaker system, and obviously, as I am 16, what girls think of it is foremost on my mind. Any speaker systems that you consider to be good? I'm not one of the guys that blasts speakers all the time, but when the time comes, I want to be able to. Also, any other ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Answer
Depending on how much space you have behind the seats, you may just want to stick with some quality 10's and an amp. Also, no matter what you get, make sure to get an alarm. Even if they drill the speaker box into the body of your truck, if someone wants to steal it, they can. I know from experience!

Any recommendations for a mini-stereo system with two remote speakers in a barn?

best speaker system under 150 image

Mary

I would like to put a small stereo system (AM/FM radio, MP3 player input, CD player) in my barn workshop and be able to hear it in that room. I'd also like to add two remote speakers in the outer barn area, and they can be hard wired to the stereo through an adjacent wall but wireless would be better. The barn will get very cold but the workroom will not get colder than 50 degrees. Any low cost (under $150) recommendations?

Answer
for you aux. speakers look at OWI 202 they are good in an out door environment and sound great and at under $150 a good buy. I would just get a used stereo from Craig's list the minis are not good if you do not use their speakers. I would not recommend wireless.

What is a good surround sound system?

I have a 32'' Vizio tv with a ps3 as a player. Using hdmi cables but speakers are not that good. Where can I find a 5.1 Surround Sound System for at least under $150 but I would pay $200 at most. I would even buy one used if I have to.

Answer
Frankly, for that amount of money, you are going to get, well, cheap crap.

Now if you could get up to about $400, you could get a Pioneer 5.1 521-K receiver for $165 from Buy.c*m, and for $200 you could get a Polk 6750 5.1 speaker set from Newegg. Under $400 and you have good electronics and good sound. With connectivity to plug in several HDMI devices.

Now, one could look on local classified sites for used speakers, but the savings for a full 5.1 set won't be huge. Good speakers in that price zone would be Infinity and Polk.

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX Certified Computer Speaker System
or the
Logitech Z-2300 THX-Certified 2.1 Speaker System with Subwoofer

Thanks!

Answer
The klipsch by a long shot.

Klipsch is a high-end speaker company that specializes in speakers, and speakers only.

Logitech is just a computer peripheral company that just makes a a little of everything.

A jack of all trades is the ace of none.

But in all seriousness, the Klipsch Pro Medias will outperform the Logitechs in every way. Just make sure you have a decent sound card to use with them. No speaker sounds good unless it's running on a decent sound card. Some newer PCs have decent built in sound, but the best way to go is still a sound card. Creative is the way to go there.

Good luck

On a logitech z-2300 computer speaker system, is it possible to use different speakers with the system?

typerhedli

I have a logitech z-2300 system. The right speaker died about two months ago. Im wondering if its possible to use different speakers with the system. The subwoofer is amazing on this thing but the speakers just didnt cut it. Its a single rca connection for each speaker into the subwoofer.

Answer
Well, I would say yes. Although the 'specs' on the web site are not very detailed, it is clear (from the single RCA jack on each speaker to the Sub) that your power amp is built into the Sub enclosure. So, any two, non powered satellite speakers that can handel 80 w each will do.

Not a problem.

Can I use my hdtv as a receiver for a speaker system?

Q. My tv has an HDMI input and red and white input. I need to know if I get a surround sound speaker set with a subwoofer, will I have to by a receiver alone or can I just use my tv? Please help.

Answer
Your TV will only put out a stereo signal, in order to get surround you need a Dolby processor of some kind the easiest and most reasonable is to get a Dolby receiver, here is one for $142 which will work quite well, you could also try a Coby surround system for as little as $99 but they are built kinda cheap and I would not recommend them....

I'm trying set up and outdoor surround speaker system with a media player type of thing in the pool house. we have a media server at my house as well but i don't know much about outdoor sound systems. I have the speaker wires run around for the speakers i just don't have the speakers or main feed device - tuner/head/whatever it's called. If you know anywhere online or anywhere else that sells these things for an affordable price. I'd appreciate you telling me. Thank you.

Answer
I would try Best Buy or any store that sell TV's and stereos. What you need is a home theater receiver and some outdoor speakers. Outdoor speakers are pretty much like any speaker except they are treated to work in wet environments.

Want to get music from my cable box to play out doors on my deck?

I have a single channel stereo system in the house that is conected to the box. Can I get a wireless audio tran/reciever connect the transmitter to the cable box and the reciever to a seperate stereo reciever on the deck connected to my outdoor speakers? Picking up the cable channel playing inside and transmiiting the signal out side? Any recommended brands to buy or stay away from?

Answer
Keep it simple - just get a separate receiver and split the audio outs from the cable box to both your indoor receiver and the outdoor one. All you need to do this is a pair of RCA "Y" cables available at Radio Shack and elsewhere.

What speakers are loud and good for parties?

speaker system for house image

Jarrett

I live in a fraternity house im also a dj and at our last party the speakers blew but luckily not all of them. They were old and crappy anyways, im looking for a whole new speaker system for the house, maybe like 5 speakers(3 for inside and 2 for outside), an amp/receiver, and a subwoofer. but im not trying to spend 1000 bucks so something cheap but that give good quality sound, can be turned up LOUD(like yell over music loud), and that are tough and long lasting id rather spend more money on loud, quality sound that lasts for years than some distorted crappy sounding speakers just because theyre easy on my wallet

Answer
Go to guitar center and get a PA system

How to conceal wires for a home theater system?

steelersfa

We recently bought a bose v20 5.1 speaker system. We bought a house from a previous owner so we don't know how to fully conceal the wires to the speakers. Please give me your sugestions
Thanks

Answer
You can run them neatly along the trim, if you run them in strait lines and secure it they aren't that noticeable... also they sell flat wire you can paint the same color as the wall, there is also flat wire that can be run under carpet...
