I want to connect all my audio sources 1. TV. 2. DVD 3. XBOX 4. MP3 player to one speaker system. what is the best way to connect with using my TV out or a amplifier?

i would say that you buy a reciever. that would solve the first 3, then i just bought a cord from radio shack that was around $8 that connects your l&r audio jacks to a headphone plug. i had the same problem and that seems to work for me and it wasnt too expensive...they may make recievers now with an mp3 player jack but im not sure.

Can the Logitech z-2300 speakers be modified into a 4.1 speaker system?

Hi,
I have the Logitech z-2300 2.1 speakers and just wanted to know if it is possible to turn them into a 4.1 speaker system by adding two more satellite speakers?
By doing so, will I lose any sound quality and is the amp sufficient enough to power two more speakers?
If it is possible, then please do provide me with information on how to set it up and what speaker should I be using.

But to answer your question, yes it's possible, but it is extremely inadvisable. You will either wire in a second set in series, which is safe, but will increase the impedance, causing your amp to produce half the power it is currently producing, and then splitting it between 2 speakers would mean each speaker is only getting 1/4 of the power they are getting right now. The other option is to wire them in parallel, which will produce more power, but cause the system to drop the impedance, which will either cause they amp to burn out in a few days, or (more likely), will push the system into so much distortion that it sounds horrible.
Either way, it's not a good idea. Just look into buying a 5.1 system. They aren't expensive. Logitech makes one for $100.
