Can I get an attachment for the Xbox 360/ PC Monitor that is especially for speakers?

I have recently moved my Xbox into the computer room and have used a HDMI cable to plug it into my computer monitor. Unfortunately, the monitor does not have speakers attached, so I was wondering if there is anything that I could buy that I could plug into either the Xbox 360 or the PC monitor that would be able to produce sound?

How do I know that the computer I am ordering online has DirectX 8.1 or better?

I am about to buy a new computer. The game I love to play needs those sound and video cards. How do I know the computer has those cards? And does it have to be those cards specifically? Any suggestions for a low cost computer that will support amateur games. Nothing too crazy. Mostly command and conquer.

Microsoft Windows XP
PC with 1.6 Ghz equivalent or higher processor
256 MB of system RAM
512 MB of system RAM for online play with 3 or more players
6 GB available hard disk space
8x speed or faster CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive (for the Collector's Edition)
64 MB GeForce3-class video card. The game only officially supports cards with ATI (Radeon 8500 or greater) and Nvidia chipsets, and the Intel GMA 900 and GMA 950 products. The GeForce 4 MX is not supported
Sound card with speakers or headphones
Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device
56.6 Kbps or better modem for 1v1 online play
Broadband connection for online play with 3 or more players
DirectX 9.0c or above.

You need to meet or exceed these requirements to play this game. These are going to be met with all new computers except for the video card requirements. If you get on board video you will probably be running an 8mb card where you need 32mb of video memory. So make sure it has at least 32mb of video memory.
