Is there a way to convert and hdmi to hd component cables?

I have an old stereo system that i would like to use with my tv. Unlike most amplifiers today, the system only has the red-white input cables for sound. So i need to convert the hdmi to the 5 different component cables to plug it into my speaker system, thanks.

What you need will cost you more than a new AV receiver.

HDMI video and analog audio can be both on at the same time.
Connect the HDMI to the TV and analog audio directly to the stereo system.

I'm trying to connect my PS3 to a samsung dvd home theater system. This system has an HDMI input and output. When i connect the HDMI cables, the tv gets a bunch of color lines and one side of snow. I tried lowering the display output on the ps3, but when i do, tv is just blacked out.

Connect the HDMI from your PS# to Your TV. Then look at the back of your TV and find the port that says audio out. Connect that port to the matching input on the back of your surround system and switch the the surround to that input with the remote and anything that is playing on the TV will play Through the speakers.
