sound system?

paul s

i want to get a sound system, pretty much i just want loud ass speakers and bass, what do i need for the basics? and how much would it cost?

Answer
Get pro audio speakers and get a box tuned to like 45, throw subs in it, and you will be loud. It will likely sound like ass but that is the cheapest way to be gut loud. If you want sound quality, then go find a good head unit, such as a nice kenwood, alpine, or pioneer, nothing too flashy. Then get a/b class amps from a respectable company (i.e. nothing from wally world), match the rms of the amps to the rms of two sets of good 6.5" component speakers. Next, find a monoblock amp, or six, or 10, and hook it up to as many subs as you please, and are in your budget. Make sure everything is wired so that you do not go below your amps stable ohm load, and you are not overpowering your subs (unless they are rated way below what they can handle, like all good sub manufacturers). Use big wires, upgrade your alternator and possibly a battery or two. Build a sub box tuned low to like 32-35, and bang, you have a kick ass powerful but good sounding system!

Per speaker, for an average DJ, what is the best of these speaker measurements?

Answer
The basics for buying any speaker or speaker system are pretty simple. Look for quality of materials. And the RMS power rating. A good quality speaker system with a higher RMS rating will generally perform better than a system with a lower RMS rating. On the same note. A system with better materials, and a similar RMS rating will generally perform better than those with a lower quality of materials.
