i am getting Pioneer VSX-1018AH 7.1 A/V Receiver can you please suggest me what kind of speaker and sub would go better with it in range of 1000 to 1500 i am going for 5.1 thanks

are 4 way speakers better than 3 way or 2 way speakers?

More doesn't always mean better. It's just methods used by engineers to produce sound. For example a well designed 2-way sounds better than a crappy 4-way.

A well designed 3-way and up can go louder until distortion, can offer installation flexibility, etc. But they are complex, expensive and harder to do correctly. Most 3-4way car speakers are low quality shit but they still make 'em 'cuz people are suckered to thinking more is better.

A "1 way" speaker system is a full-range single driver speaker. It's just one driver making most of the sound from the lows to the highs. Drivers that can do this are referred to as extended range driver, wide range driver, or a full-range single driver, etc.

It's hard to make a single driver speaker that sounds good and plays loud. It's easier to split the audio frequencies to dedicated drivers so the each driver don't work as hard. ex: Subs play bass, woofers play midbass to midrange, tweeters play the highs

driver - is a single speaker/transducer. ex: a tweeter, woofer, subwoofer, etc.. In other words just the single speaker by itself.
