What is 7.1 and 6.1 theater speaker system?

Basically it's the same as 5.1 system .
6.1 adds an extra center speaker in the rear surrounds,
7.1 adds two extra speakers in the rear surround mainly for music purposes . You would have two speakers on the left and two on the right, one left rear speaker would be behind you and the other more to the side of you, The same would be the same for the right side. The two speakers behind you would be for movies for a deflective sound, and the two speakers to the side of you would be for music for a more direct sound.

I want to get a 7.1 Surround System out of these 7 speakers. The Logitech speakers require three 3.5 mm audio jacks, the Philips speakers require one 3.5 mm audio jack.
will a sound card like this support all 7 speakers/four 3.5 mm jacks ?

My motherboard sound system is broken, and i do not want to waste $60 to buy something that may not work. I needed more feedback before i feel ready to spend that much money. Nobody forces your to respond to questions, it is much better to shut your mouth than to insult others.

Unless you plan to do some serious professional audio/music recording and editing, a sound card is a waste of money, most modern motherboards have excellent 7.1 integrated sound.

For 7.1 you need a total of 8 speakers:
2 front speakers
1 center speaker
1 subwoofer
2 side speakers
2 rear speakers

You cannot mismatch speakers from two separate systems.
