What's the best speaker system for the iPod nano?

Q. I have a few of the cheap $10-20 portable speakers, but they sound so crappy and so distorted. I have been researching, and the Bose sound dock is what I want, but more than I want to spend. I read reviews on the Altec Lansing im7 and the Logitech mm50, and they too are a lot of money - I am wondering if anyone has these, if they REALLY sound good, maybe I'll spend it, but I can't find a store that will let me listen to them. Can anyone tell me? I want one that will fit the nano properly and charge it as well, while still being somewhat portable.
So at an apple store they will let you listen to all the speakers live in person? Great, I tried at target and best buy, and no luck- maybe I just need to find an apple store?

You can sample a wide variety of speakers at an Apple store. The Bose system is definetly worth the money. I have the JBL OnStage Speakers with dock and they work great. It's very portable too. I use the AUX cord it came with to attach it to my computer so it doubles as computer speakers. And it comes with these changeable plastic frame pieces so any iPod, even the nano, will have a perfect fit. Which ever system you purchase, just read it to find if the dock will also charge your nano.

iPod Speakers - Tech Specs?

My iPod speakers have broken which i don't mind as i've had them for five years now

The problem is - i now need new ones and i have no idea what makes a good set of speakers..?

I don't want to buy something purely on looks when the sound quality isn't as good as something else the same price

If any of you know any thing about iPod speakers and the Tech Specs and could give me a few pointers i would be MORE than grateful for your help!
