can you mount speakers to a lighting truss?

Q. portable on stage lighting truss
rcf art 315 (41lbs a piece)

Going off product info the truss should handle weight if evenly distributed , and one reason I went with the rcf's was because of the m10 mounting points.
I guess my real question is: Is there anybody out there using this configuration to save space for a mobile DJ setup? or is this nuts, and not worth the trouble?

Answer
Rebecca - Yes you can but you need to consider the weight capacity of the truss and you need to get "flying rated" speakers. Your RCF speakers have "hanging points" so they are OK

See:

If you download the spec sheet, you will see on page 4 that you can get brackets to mount that speaker to your truss. You really need to do this right...a speaker dropping on someone's head is the last thing you want.

how much watts can a soundstream tarantula trx2.640 amp throw on mono?

i have a sound system which has 6 speakers and 2 subs the speakers are four 12'' EV and 2 15''EV only speakers and 2 18'' RCF subs! i have a SoundStream Tarantula TRX 2.640 amp the box says its a 2-channel amp with 640 watts im using the amp as mono so the guy told me im going to have about 2,000 watts on mono is this true im planing on using it with my 6 speakers not the subwoofers will it have enough power for all 6 speakers? please HELP ME!!!

Answer
Here is the link to that amp for specs.

in bridged/mono it will put out 640 rms @ 4 ohms. You couldn't run 6 speakers off that amp in mono unless your run it at 6 ohms which would make the amp put out less power. Why would you want to run speakers in mono? you want to run them in stereo. 3 on one side and 3 on the other in stereo.
Even at 2 ohm stereo you can't run 6 speaker. You have to run 2 of those speakers off your deck or another amp. Run 4 of your speakers off that amp in 2 ohm stereo and it will work. Run 2 in parallel to one channel and 2 in parallel to the other channel. Then you will get 110 rms to each speaker which is plenty.
