2004 Chrystler Pacifica, no volume?, that has a Infinity speaker system, 200-watt amplifier, graphic equalizer?

Michalennn

I have a 2004 Chrystler Pacifica, that has a Infinity speaker system, 200-watt amplifier, graphic equalizer, everything works and turns on, Tv picture works, navigation system works, there is just no volume, and I was told it might be my graphic equalizer, can anyone please educate me more on this and let me know how to fix or check it. Thanks
All fuses are fine. Switched out player for new factory one so it would have no compatability issues, and still didnt work, switched out amp too in same manner, still didnt work, volume wise. Can you tell me where to locate the equalizer?

Answer
It can sometimes be hard to pinpoint a problem like this one. You might have to troubleshoot your system. The easiest thing to do is to check the fuse on your amp. Sometimes when you burn out a fuse on the amplifier you'll have problems with no sound. When you run the stereo at high volume, once in awhile you can blow a fuse or if you're grounding out someplace. But if it is a ground out problem that could really be a pain to find. If that's fine, check your other fuses throughout that contribute directly to your sound system like your factory fuse box. Keep in mind that decks can blow out as well. Sometimes they'll turn on and look like their running but that doesn't mean their not blown. Start from the fuses and work your way up. I wouldn't count out the equalizer but that might be the least of your problems to be honest with you. Good Luck!

about bose speaker system?

hi every one i have just bought bose acoustimass 30 powered sub and cube speakers and i dont have any receiver do i really need a receiver or i can connect them to my samsung blue ray player if i have to buy a receiver for that which one is compatiable exept bose ones becoz its to expensive..thnx

Answer
The Bose system has an equalizer built in to compensate for the lousy quality of the miniture speakers. The amplifier only powers the subwoofer component. Thereofore you have to use an audio amplifier (or receiver) to power the speakers. While one of the (many) issues with Bose speakers is their use of proprietary connectors you can use any amp/receiver and don't need one made by Bose. All you have to do is make sure the right output on the amp is connected to the right input on the acoustimas ... using speaker wire (i.e with one conductor clearly differentiated from the other) to ensure correct "phasing" (+ to + or red to red, whichever approach your amp uses. It doesn't matter which wire is +/red, as long as all follow the same code).

In general you have wasted your money on Bose speakers. They are mediocre at best and way overpriced relative to many, many other options. Since the Acoustimass 30 was only sold until 2001 I assume you bought used ... so I hope you got them for a good price.
