To be honest speakers are only part of what you need for great crisp sound. I will assume you have a good receiver and you are looking for a 5.1 system or even 6.1?? If so I honestly recommend Onkyo. I have had Dennon and Phillips and Sony speakers and they don't compete with wattage or range of sound compared to price. They are my vote for a system under 500. They offer many different styles to meet your needs, at least check them out. I ordered mine from ecost.com and they had an amazing deal on them, but you can get them in stores too.

I have a 2003 Mustang And want some 10" subs. I still have stock speakers and these are my two options:
Deal One:

first ill say both those setups arent really worth it.
second, i believe you have 6 speakers. 5x7/6x8 in the front and the rear deck, and 6 1/2" in the rear side panel. thats just going off what a site told me. you may have a convertible or something and only have 4 speakers.

again you need to find out if you need 2 or 3 sets of speakers, and double check the size for the rear. the amp i picked isnt the best, but hifonics is a good lower end brand and it will put out good power for the price. its a single sub but that single sub will sound better than either of the 2 sub setups you had picked. i would look around(ebay especially) you might be able to find most of the things i listed cheaper to save some money. the box you dont have to go with, but go with a box around 1cu.ft. thats sealed for best sound. this is going to cost more than what you had picked out, but its actually worth buying unlike the other crappy sets you had picked out. after all you are looking to upgrade lol.
