Acer laptop speakers and headphones problems?

I have an acer aspire 6920 and just recently the speakers and headphones started acting funny. Whenever any audio is played(music, movies, system sounds, etc.) it emits a high pitched sound and crackles with the intended audio barely audible. I already reinstalled the drivers but it still doing it. Any help is much appreciated.

Answer
External or internal speakers. If the internal speakers are screeching then you might have a bad amplifier and this means a repair. If its the external speakers it might be dust on the connection. Try spinning the plug and see if you get static. If so, it's probably dust. With the computer turned off you can try inserting and removing the speaker/headphones plug 10 or 20 times to dislodge the dust, then blow in the hole gently with a can of compressed air.

You might also try a set of USB speakers or headphones and see if the problem goes away.

my speakers suck!!!!?

i dont know anything about cars or systems for that matter. but my speakers are blown, and i dont know what to do ): i need to know how i can get them fixed for cheap. i dont plan on having the car for very much longer but i can't go without music sounding decent til i can get a new car.
your retarded. i know i need to change them. i need to know how i'd go about changing them.

Answer
cheap unbranded speakers can be bought from anywhere and they dont sound too bad. i wouldnt suggest going all out if your planning to sell the car and speakers arent easily repaired. go for 6x9's for decent quality.

to change them unscrew the retaining screws around the rim of the speaker. (you may need to remove the door card/door trim from the side of the door first) mark the + and - connection with a bit of tape then wire up the new speakers and screw them back on....not difficult and all you would need is a screw driver. IF the wiring on your new or old speakers are bare-ended your may need to solder them together or for a quick fix just tape over the connections with insulation tape.

WITH ANY ELECTRICAL WORK DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL OF YOUR CAR BATTERY FIRST!!!!!
