Speakers for my room?

jrk556

I am looking for a kick but speaker system for my room... nothing expensive the cheaper the better somthing that can play my ipod and play my gamesystems

Answer
get a HTIB system isn't expensive and its great for small rooms and they came with everything you need.

http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&tag=mozilla-20&index=blended&link%5Fcode=qs&field-keywords=htib&sourceid=Mozilla-search

if you want only speakers you will probably expend more money on it than the whole HTIB system, i have seen system for $300 and i mean good system.

remember you need 5 speakers and 1 subwoofer so do the math.

a HTIB came with the receiver 5 speakers, 1 subwoofer, remote sometimes universal, features like ipod ready (some models) and dvd player integreted .

you can always get an ipod dock connect to the system
some HTIB brands have their own ipod dock to work with the system.

Ok so i want to make a sound system for my room, its fairly small...10 by 20ft . I don't know anything about speakers and receivers so info might help a bit. what type of receiver or amplifier should i use and how many speakers can i connect for good sound and base.

Answer
Hey,. My answer is a little bit different than the previous answer. I am pretty serious about my audio and video and what i would suggest is to buy high quality audio. It's all a part of the experience. Unlike TV's or other components, speakers don't really change that much over time, high end audio now is still going to be high end audio 20 years from now. As technology changes, you will be changing part of your audio system as well. For example, the new blu-ray format does DTS HD and Dolby True HD, if you purchase a system which does not decode this, it is pretty much already obsolete since that is the next step for audio. Also, stay away from those Home Theater in a Box systems, they don't allow for expansion in the future and will eventually have you buying a new system once new technology comes out. Also, try to stay away from big box stores for audio, go to a local audio shop and they can build the right system for you. Bix box stores only care about how much product they push out the door, not how happy you are.

Also, what type of receiver depends on what you're using it for. if you are using this setup to run a cd or a turntable, you will be better off buying a higher end two tower speaker and subwoofer package. If it is for a surround sound system on tv, think about the future, and where you want to see your sound system 10 years from now. cheers
