How to connect a 6.1 spk system to a Dennon AVR-1912 7.1?

Raldy

i have an existing bose AM-15 with additional center channel upgraded to a 6.1 i am planning to buy a Denon AVR-1912 7.1 model.

Answer
Your best bet is to get rid of the additional center channel and set it up as 5.1.

A 6.1 system is basically a 5.1 system that has an additional, rear, center speakers. This format didn't last very long at all. Mostly because putting speakers directly behind the viewer severely limits the sweet spot of the viewing location and means that people have to have HUGE spaces for their sound systems just to get in 1 extra speaker that hardly ever produces any sound.

With a 7.1 system, all of the speakers are either in the front, or on the sides of the viewers. No speakers are physically placed behind the viewers, which means it's more compatible with smaller viewing areas and is much more convenient.

So ditch the rear, center channel and connect it to your receiver as you would 5.1. If you get two more speakers in the future, you can have 7.1.

Side Note:
Do yourself a favor and get rid of the BOSE speakers. Denon makes a very good receiver. Ruining the quality of that receiver with crappy BOSE speakers is like putting sardines in chocolate mousse.

Good 7.1 surround system?

My Budget is around $1500. My room is about 9ft by 13ft (3 x 4) Meters. I will be using it on my PC/xbox 360/TV .I am an Audiophile :P

Answer
I would take a look at AV receivers by Denon speakers by Aperion or the latest A series by Boston Acoustics also Energy or PSB speakers may work for you, but $1500 is probably going to be cutting it pretty close....for something satisfactory...perhaps the Denon AVR 1912 and the Boston Acoustic A360 combined with 4 A25 and a center channel and a BIC Formula -12 subwoofer....about the least expensive I could come up with...
