I have a noisy teenager who dosent care for others work or comfort and puts the speakers at full. No amount of persuasion works. Probably everyone cannot understand the problem but the people who can kindly suggest a solution for my problem below.

I want to create a auto start up batch file and cut off or delete the speakers drivers and allow the sound to be accessed through headphones.

Or atleast minimize the sound to a minimum and block from any changes to be made.

Thank you,greatly appreciate it.

Answer
Try simpler method,
Go to control panel.
click sound and audio devices
under volume,
under speaker settings,
1. click speaker volume
put both the volumes slightly near low end
or at extreme left at low.

2. under device volume
click mute
press ok.

3. If you have Realtek audio driver installed,
click on realtek audio driver icon in control panel,
click audio /io
under analog back panel
click item 2 , against green button,
select line in
press ok.

How hard is it to install a sound card for someone with no experience?

Also I got a new speaker system 5.1 and I need a new sound card.. about how much $ do I need to spend for one.. i basically just want it for listening to music.. but loud and clear

Answer
EASY,

1 turn the computer off.

2. open the case.

3, touch the bare metal to discharge any static that you may have.

4. unplug the powercord from the back of the computer.

5. take the screw out of your old sound card and remove card. save screw.

6. Put New card into slot and replace screw.

7. Replace cover, and plug in.

8. load cd that came with your sound card, and install drivers.

Price for a 5.1 sound card is around 15.00 to 25.00 depending on Brand and place you purchase. I would not pay more than 50.00 in a retail store.
