Would I be able to add a second sub-woofer to my Speaker System Z623?

Q. I was thinking if I could get a sub-woofer and wire them somehow to the AUX plug-ins, But I'm not sure if that would work. Any advice?
It's a Logitech Speaker System Z623

Answer
No. You can not add a secondary sub woofer to a speaker system like the one you are looking at. If you are using a receiver with a pre out for a sub woofer then yes you can add another sub woofer to is. Those speaker system like the one you are looking at does not have the power to drive another speaker. The AUX plugs are for input and not output. Hope this will help you out.

Logictech z623 2.1 speaker system high volume.?

Q. When I turn up my logictech z623 2.1 speaker system to %100 the subwoofer sounds different than when at %50. And it doesn't sound different in a good way. It seems a little sketchy and that it shouldn't be making that sound. Is it normal that its making a different kind of sound? Thanks in advance.

Answer
You can only turn up the volume so high before the amplifiers for the sub and speakers run out of clean power and start to clip (distort). Turning up the volume past the point where you start to hear distortion causes the amps and your speaker coils to heat rapidly and will eventually damage your speakers or amps.

The volume control is made so you can still get good output, even if the input from your source is a bit low. With a strong source, you should not expect to be able to turn the volume all the way up on any audio equipment without causing clipping. That's almost never the case.
