How can I connect my Logitech Speaker System Z906 to my xbox 360 that has an HDMI connected my LCD TV?

Jorge

Do I have to downgrade to the cables that came with the xbox to connect to a digital output?

Answer
Both your xbox and tv should have a digital audio output. Choose one and hook that output to the digital audio input of the Z906.

Digital and analog inputs

Youâve got the flexibility to set up your system the way you want to. Connect up to six audio sources, including your TV, Blu-rayâ¢/DVD player, DVR, Xbox 360®, PLAYSTATION®3, Wii®, iPod®, PC and more.

what do you think any better

Answer
Yeah, I'm with Maniac, in that computer speakers are not the way to go with your needs and budget, if you want good quality sound.

Going with your budget, I would suggest a home theater audio receiver such as a Yamaha RX-V371BL available on Amaz*n for $191, and a set of 5.1 speakers, either the Polk 6750 set for $229, or the slightly newer 705 set for $249.

Factor in some audio cables, also available for nice prices on Amaz*n, such as a digital optical cable to run the sound from a TV through the receiver (While you can find these for as little as $2-$3, those are crappy cables, spend the $5), HDMI cables, which connect disc players or game devices to the receiver, and then onto the TV, and speaker wire (16 gauge is best for your application), and a subwoofer cable.

With all that, even with the 705 system, you should be under your $500 limit, and you'll be all set with quality gear, and great sound and connectivity, that meets all of your stated needs.

I need some speakers with a lot of watts and bass that will shake the ground a little in one room?

Q. How many watts do I need for a speaker set to have enough bass to shake one room a little. I want some speakers that has a lot of bass and will shake the ground a good amount. I want to fell the bass but as we'll I want the audio and bass to be clear. The type of speakers I'm looking for is a 5.1 surround speakers with one or more sups to it. I was thinking about getting the Logitech speaker system Z906. But I was not sure if this would have enough bass for me. And I was wondering about the beatbox from Dr. Dre. Not the mini portable beatbox but the big one that he has that cost 399.00 $ it's on sale for 250.00 $ at his official site. But I was wondering if his beat box was any good. Thanks for everyone who writes an answer of this question!

Answer
Contrary to popular belief, watts doesn't tell you much about how much acoustic output an audio system has. To produce bass, you have to move a lot of air which means you need large woofers with a lot of cone surface area. You're not going to get earth shaking bass with anything from Logitech or similar. For this you need a real system, not a toy like Logitech.

Find yourself a receiver with preamp outputs so you can use external amplifiers for the main speakers. To keep the budget low (although still far higher than Logitech) you could go with something like this NAD... http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=NAT748 Then add something like this Emotiva amplifier for the left/right/center... http://shop.emotiva.com/collections/amplifiers/products/xpa-3 Then add some budget left/right main speakers like these... http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=MRBBX6 and a center... http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=MRBBXCE and surrounds... http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=MRBBXFX and a subwoofer... http://www.hsuresearch.com/products/vtf-15h.html

The above example is entry level, it's a system that would be pretty good for the money. If you really want something good, it's going to be a lot more. There are things between this and the Logitech, but don't buy any system that is an all in one package, instead buy individual components. If you are good with tools maybe you can consider building your own... subwoofers especially if you get a kit is really easy... http://www.parts-express.com/cat/subwoofer-system-kits/287

How loud should I set my rear surrounded speakers?

I have a Logitech Z906 speaker system. Whenever I set my rear speakers either they're too low or too loud that I can't hear the front dialogue speakers. How can I set it to that 'just right' volume?

Answer
You can get a sound DB meter from radio shack or other electronics stores and use that to set up your speakers using the meter in a fixed location you set up all speakers to put out thye same level, you need some kind of program or disk that will generate a pink noise or white noise sound into each speaker in turn so they can be adjusted equally....

By the way i don't actually mean shake the whole house i mean just enough to kind of give it enough bass to feel the floor shake in one room if any one is mistaking by the house i mean just like one room.

How Klipsch is delivering good sounds?

I have Logitech z906 system and recently I saw Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 has Subwoofer only 3" but delivering 130 Watt RMS. How it is possible as compare to z906 ?

Answer
You read wrong. The klipsch promedia 2.1 has a 6.5" long throw woofer and the satellite speakers have 3" woofers. How they compare, I don't know because I never needed computer speakers but Klipsch has a huge fan base and people love their speakers. Logitech is very popular also so it comes down to preference. If I'm not mistaken, the Logitech subs are real performers with huge magnets and surrounds.

im talking about Speakers. what is the difference between Subwoofer, and Watts.?

raykay.

im deciding wether i get a Logitech Speaker System Z906, Or a Speaker System Z623. which one is good for music? im using a laptop by the way.

Answer
All speakers consume power (Watts). Some require more power than others. Low frequency (bass or 'woofer') speakers demand more power because the cones have to push against large amounts of air to make the low frequency sounds . Sub-woofers are speakers designed to reproduce the lowest of frequencies: higher frequencies are generated by smaller coned speakers moving relatively. quickly.
Most people buy these speakers to get the bass/percussive effects employed in repetitive 'music'.
Some say that it helps you feel panicky when watching disaster movies.
Shave your head, wear lots of bling and reject the use of consonants, I say.
