speaker system for mazda 6 image
luv2shop
I want to hook up an aftermark system I have everything for it including a low lever converter, my only problem is I want to take the dash plate off to get to the back of the receiver. It is the stock receiver with the bose speakers. Is there an easy trick to get this off? I looked and there are no specific tools (din) to take it off and I don't want to use a butter knife and wreck the face plate.
Please help.

Question on needs for a sound system?
AvidCheese
So I have a 04' Mazda 6. Stock deck (bose system) and I'm interested in purchasing a sound system for my ride (adding subs/amp).
I had a friend who recently said I need to get a certain item that cost upwards of $400 to make it run through a stock deck like mine.
Besides the subs and amps will I need anything else?
Answer
You will need a high level converter unit. The way it works is you tap the wires going into your speakers into this unit, which has RCA Outputs that you plug the RCA cables into and run to the amp. The signal comes from the head unit through the speaker wires to the High level converter to the amp. Very simple procedure. It's easiest to tap in the the speaker wire in the back or rear deck, depending on where your rear speakers are located. The unit can be anywhere from 10-50$ +/- Hope this helps
