Would I be able to add a second sub-woofer to my Speaker System Z623?

Q. I was thinking if I could get a sub-woofer and wire them somehow to the AUX plug-ins, But I'm not sure if that would work. Any advice?
It's a Logitech Speaker System Z623

Answer
No. You can not add a secondary sub woofer to a speaker system like the one you are looking at. If you are using a receiver with a pre out for a sub woofer then yes you can add another sub woofer to is. Those speaker system like the one you are looking at does not have the power to drive another speaker. The AUX plugs are for input and not output. Hope this will help you out.

Logictech z623 2.1 speaker system high volume.?

Q. When I turn up my logictech z623 2.1 speaker system to %100 the subwoofer sounds different than when at %50. And it doesn't sound different in a good way. It seems a little sketchy and that it shouldn't be making that sound. Is it normal that its making a different kind of sound? Thanks in advance.

Answer
You can only turn up the volume so high before the amplifiers for the sub and speakers run out of clean power and start to clip (distort). Turning up the volume past the point where you start to hear distortion causes the amps and your speaker coils to heat rapidly and will eventually damage your speakers or amps.

The volume control is made so you can still get good output, even if the input from your source is a bit low. With a strong source, you should not expect to be able to turn the volume all the way up on any audio equipment without causing clipping. That's almost never the case.

Does the Logitech Speaker System Z623 work on tv?

elijah

I wanna buy a good speaker system for my tv and I saw that this one is affordable (I have a budget of $150)
I wanted to know if it works for watching tv and if it sounds good.

Thanks

Answer
I'm afraid Greg is totally wrong.

Home theater gear is NOT compatible with computer gear.

That speaker set is designed to work with a computer sound card which has 3 "headphone" jacks to feed the 6 speakers. Your TV, Cable box, BluRay player - none of these will have compatible outputs.

The other problem - computer speakers are designed to surround 1 person at a desk with sound. They are NOT room-filing. But young-and-dumb kids often crank them up and try to use them for their living room or bedroom systems. They wind up burning the speakers out in a few months.

So my advice is you should save your money and watch your local Craigslist for some used gear.

Logitech Z-2300 vs Z623?

Marc

I heard they are both very good systems, but which is better for the money? The Z-2300 is $75 more than the Z623. Is it worth the extra money?

Answer
I got a replacement system when my Z-2300 controller was messed up from too much abuse. Logitech gave me a Z623 free, I just had to ship them my Z-2300 controller back at their expense (I have the old speakers still).

So the Z623 is decent, but far from the Z-2300's build quality and overall pleasant listening experience. The Z623 speakers lack bass, and sound a bit harsh on the top end. High levels only make this worse, and not a pleasant listening experience. The Z-2300's have a smoother response to the ear, more powerful bass when you want it, a controller (wired) that isn't in the right channel speaker, better materials, and better build design. You won't regret them, but the same can't be said for their cheaper replacements; the Z623.

Is there any better speakers with a sub-woofer then the Logitech Speaker System Z623?

Derek

I'm wondering if there are any better speakers then the Logitech Speaker System Z623, I'm thinking around the price range of 500 or around there. I use them for PC speakers so more then 2 speakers would not be necessary.

Answer
Yes. There are better speaker system out there than the one you are looking at. Klipsch is one that I can name off at the top of my head now.

Should i Upgrade my power supply for my 200w speakers?

mal75

I am going to upgrade my speakers for my dell inpsiron 530. It's going to be a Logitech THX-Certified Speaker System Z623 (200w).
I'd like to know if I would get any benefit(s) if i upgrade my power supply from 330w to 750w?

Answer
Speaker Systems usually have their own power supply. However, it wouldn't hurt upgrading a 330W PSU.
