I have Samsung HDTV's with Samsung home theater audio systems in two homes. While most home theater systems now have color-coded speaker wire matching the inputs, you can also just read the labeling for front, rear, left, right, center, sub-woofer, etc.
Keep in mind two things: Only the left and right front speakers (and sub-woofer for bass) will work when watching stereo television. With 5.1 surround systems (Dolby/DTS) the front center is used for speech while the rear two (surround) speakers will only be activated occasionally for special sound effects (as in a movie theater) and even each of those may activate independently too. Through the home theater setup menu, you can adjust the volume of each speaker to your liking (such as if you need to boost the center speaker to hear dialogue better), and you can also run their test that runs through all 5.1 (or 7.1) speakers sequentially with test tones to be sure all are active and working correctly and are at the desired volume level. The front LED display on your home theater receiver should also indicate which speakers are "active" at the time depending on if you're watching a DVD, broadcast TV, stereo, 5.1 surround, etc. as an added confirmation. You can usually even choose to keep the TV speakers on as well or have them disabled when listening via the home theater system. Keeping them enabled at the same time may result in a slight delay or echo effect however.
Finally, some systems give you the option of "Party" or "music" mode, bridging all speakers mono, so that the 4 primary speakers are always active, all producing the same sound at the same time. This is ideal when playing music and you just want even room coverage (such as during a party) but is not ideal when watching DVD's or broadcasts in true 5.1 surround sound.

I am looking to create a killer sound system for my computer setup, but the problem is I have no clue what I should use⦠I don't want to spend over $200 but I rather spend just $150. I was thinking of getting two sony SS-B1000, but what amp should i get to power them? Is there any other speakers you would recommend to me? I am looking at only spending like $50 on the amp, but If i have to spend more what everâ¦

That's a pretty small budget for a "killer sound system". Especially if you are going to try to piece it together yourself. Component systems are typically better, but are more expensive.
As one person has pointed out, the Klipsch pro-media system is really nice. I had a set of them years ago before I built my component system.
I would also highly recommend keeping you eyes open for some nice used speakers on craigslist or ebay. Sony doesn't really make very good speakers. About a year ago I bought a pair of Mirage M290is speakers for about $110 after shipping. As for sound quality, they will blow away anything Sony has ever built.
