does anyone have logitech speakers system for example as studio monitors?

Andy M

lets say the logitech z623 system. or any other company, satellite speakers and a sub.

Answer
Logitech speakers as studio monitors???

How hard do you want the legitimate audio community to laugh?

No serious knowledgeable person would even suggest,
let alone do, such a ridiculous thing.

Real studio monitors are large, full-range cabinets,
and shouldn't need or use subwoofers.

I gotta tell this joke to a friend of mine who used to be
in the sound and lighting business. It'll crack him up.

Need help selecting Speaker System for my Denon 7.1 channel receiver. Can use suggestions.?

GaryDenon

I have looked at both the ORB MOD2 Home Theater Speaker System and the BIC Acoustech Cinema Series 6 Speaker System. Anyone familiar with them? Would appreciate any and all suggestions. I want a great sounding system for both my dvd and cd systems.

Answer
Speakers are such a matter of personal preference, it's really hard to suggest what's best to someone. However, I have a Denon 3805 and use Boston Acoustics VR45's, VR20's, a Boston Center, PV600 sub, and it sounds fabulous. For the money, I think Boston & Infinity are great. Beware because there are alot of really bad speakers out there whose companies spend $$$ on advertising, so you think they must be great. The worst I have ever heard are Cambridge Soundworks. I don't know how these guys are in business. I would rather have 5 clock-radios around my living room!
Anyway, just go listen to some quality stuff at a BestBuy-Magnolia store, and a Tweeter store. Good Luck.
Oh, BTW, you can get some amazing deals on lightly used speakers on eBay. I got my sub & center speaker that way.

Speaker System ! whats a satellite speaker system?

hats.bats

why do they call it a satellite speaker!?

Answer
If you think of the earth and the satelittes that orbit it, the system is a lot like that. You have you main speakers up front, and then depending on make, etc. you have speakers set up around the room to boost the audio output. Mine has LF, LR, Center, SR, SL, BR, BL, and sub, for a total of 8 speakers. These speakers "orbit" , if you will, the main set of speakers to create a surround sound effect. Hence, they are like satellites off the earth.

It could also be said if you think of a business, that has it's main office in the city, and a smaller "satellite" office in country. It is not as big, but does some business there. Main office- main speakers (most of the workload). satellite office- satellite speakers (each one does a little to increase).

Opening up a a salon with one main room and 2 small room. On a construction budget. would like to use the cheapest sound system (like a boom box if possible) to pipe music to the rooms using recessed speaker with individual volume control. The music could all be on the same channel for now.
Would like to know how how to do that with limited output option on the sound system.
If business is successful, would eventually like to pipe music to rooms from different channel at some future point but would like that option now.

Answer
You can pick up a cheep amp one or two channels around $150. Now it sounds like you want to fire up 3 zones, each room is a zone, you will have to pick up a multiple speaker selector from Radio Shack, as well as 3 in wall volume controls and 3 pair of in wall speakers. This is not cheep...you may be able to save some money if the speaker selector has independent volume control in the unit, but you won't be able to control the volume from the room you're in. You might be able to pick up a used Russound Cam4 on line for a decent price, that would fit your application perfectly, all you would need is some speakers and an ipod/cd player/fm tuner...whatever!!

How to convert a PA system into a 2-way intercom system?

B - Man

I'll try to make this short.

I just installed a PA system for a business we are opening. It's for a 9 unit apartment complex that we are converting into a home for people that are Mentally ill. The front unit is the office, In the other 8 living rooms around the complex I have installed 8 wall/ceiling speakers that are run from an amp and microphone from the office.

For certification it has to be a two way intercom so people can contact up if they need to, not just an announcement system like I installed. Is there anyway to utilize what I have to convert it into a two way communication system ?

Answer
NO. You would be better off having a phone in each room so they can call. Check out radio shack some times they have a system that you might be able to use.
