What is the best 2.1 speaker system Microlab or Creative?

shehan.wik

I'm gonna buy a speaker system which is below USD 400. So recommend me a speaker to buy Creative SBS A300 or Microlab M-500.

Answer
I have used and still using Creative Inspire 4.1 and 7.1. True value for money and works like a charm when coupled with Creative Sound blaster sound cards.

Can a 5.1 Computer Speaker system (like Logitech or Creative) deliver a good movie surround sound experience?

trer

I have a 32" LCD TV and I was thinking about getting a 5.1 system (logitech or creative) to get surround sound for movies. However, I don't want to go all out for a high powered home theatre system from Onkyo or Sony or something. $59.99-$99.99 for a simple 5.1 system sounds more palatable to me than $199+. And since I don't have a big place, I don't need the huge speakers. However, do the computer speakers deliver a credible surround sound experience?

Answer
Hi!
I will try to provide as unbiased and honest an answer as possible...

If you want an all in 1 solution on a lower budget, then Logictech or Creative are good options... They are designed for game playback though, and as a result, will be "boomy" or more thunderous than a component audio system would offer.
Seeing as you spent a good amount of money on your TV (LCD's aren't "cheap") why not do your TV (and your ears) a favor, and live with the TV speakers for a few extra weeks until you can save ~$500 for a good quality home theater in a box (htib) solution from someone like Panasonic or even Sony. Trust me, the sound will be much more commensurate to audio/video watching/listening than a computer sound system would be. I relate those computer sound systems to Bose in terms of audio performance (this is NOT a good thing!) for home theater environments... BOOM without much emotion... Find it in yourself to save some extra dough and buy a system dedicated to a living/bed room environment and you will be much more satisfied with the overall listening arrangement!

Creative 5.1 digital speaker system.?

woolies

hello,
i have Creative 5.1 digital speaker system with creative sound blaster live 24 bit sound card. it give me a good sound when i watch movies specially but, Is there any way i can get full surround sound effect, for that i dont mind changing any other sound card.
These speakers systems can be connected via opitcal cable as well.
Please give any advise
regards

Answer
Click Start>Programs>Creative>Sound Blaster>EAX Console. Click the "CMSS 3D" tab and select "Enable CMSS 3D Surround". This will upmix 2-channel sound and make it come out of all speakers, plus give it a surround effect. Also click Start>Programs>Creative>Sound Blaster>Speaker Settings, click the "Bass Management" tab, and enable the "Bass Redirection" option. This will redirect all low-frequency sound to the subwoofer so you will hear the bass.

Ive done this on my Sound Blaster Audigy 4 card, it should be the same for your Sound Blaster Live.

Answer
true surround comes from the number and positioning of speakers, make sure you have your front L/R, center channel, and R/L rear speakers positioned properly. Here is a link to show a 5.1 system placement, it shows a home theatre system, but the concept would be the same for your computer system: http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/S-zcj0di8qB2U/learningcenter/home/speaker_placement.html

no its not capable of doing that...

How do you hook up two separate speaker systems to one computer?

IronAngel2

I currently have a HP Media Center PC and would like to hook up another speaker system to it.

Currently I have a Creative speaker system, it has two smaller desk top speakers and a sub-woofer. It connects to my PC through a standard AUX cable into the back port of my PC.

I would like to hook up another system, one consisting of 2 desk top speakers and a sub-woofer, this system also connects to a PC with a AUX cable.

I just need to know whether I need to purchase a AUX split-er or could I just plug the AUX cable into the port that is in the front of my computer?

Answer
You just need to find a way to plug it in, it doesn't matter how.

Then right click on the sound icon

Click playback devices

and enable both of your sound systems. (Both should show up)
