Good car speaker systems?

durnt

I recently just purchased an Alpine deck, and now im looking to get some new speakers for my car. I dont know a lot about speaker systems, and I was wondering what you would all recommend. Im hoping to spend under 300$ for equipment, but if a little extra gets me a substantial boost in quality ill consider it.

Answer
Speakers ae very subjective, and of personal preference, i may like something that you hate and visa versa. i would recommend going to a good car audio shop and take a listen, take a favorite cd, and test drive the speakers. for 300 you should be able to get some decent speakers all around. once you find a brand model you like, you could then shop online to find the best deal, woofers etc, is one place that has great values. you could also look at Crutchfield, they supply great directions and free harnesses for your vehical, so do it yourself is real easy when buying from them. I would stay away from best buy and the likes, typically thier stuff is overpirced for what it is.
since you asked for brand i feel obligated to through out a few names for you, but i still urge you to take a listen before you buy.

Boston acoustic
Diamond Audio
image dynamics
MB quart

These are names that are less mainstream, but i assure you they are serious about car audio. Also keep in mind that round speakers typically distort less and sound cleaner that the same series in a oval shape, however ovals can produce more bass in tight areas.

Hope that helps, and good luck.

Bose speaker system for a car?

qwerty12

I just got a 2007 toyota camry, everything stock. I love the sound of bose speakers for home use, but does bose sell speakers for a car? If so where can you buy them, and do they even sound good? Thanks

Answer
yes they sell car speakers
they are hard to find in stores and on the web, because all of their speakers are "designed" for specific car applications, and are "tuned" for specific cars by their placement (sound stage)
they sound good but are over priced for what you get, your best bet would be to look into JL Audio (over priced) or Infinity components (not full range, 2 ,3 ,or 4way speakers- you want the tweeter separate from the mid bass driver for best sound quality)
here is a link to their website http://www.bose.com/controller?event=VIEW_STATIC_PAGE_EVENT&url=/automotive/index.jsp

I have a Celia with it's stock speaker system. I am looking for better speakers as well as a good subwoofer. What store's should I look into visiting to help me with this process?

Thanks.

Answer
you need to go to sonicelectronix.com this site is the best. They gurantee you that they have the lowest price. Im actually ordering 2 Alpine SWR-1242D Type R's (12 inch) and i've looked around and they are the lowest price. This is a website retailer so they ship the stuff to you. I'm not sure where you live so not sure where to go to get them installed but i live in michigan and im going to get them installed at car tunes, they're local. I've heard best buy is a good place and bad place to get installation for car audio so idk u might have to do some research on that. Hope i helped good luck.

How much would it be to get a speaker system in my car?

TNT2DABTB

I got a new 2012 Chevy Cruze. I would like to puspeak speaker system in it. But I know nothing about that. How much would it be for a full package? All I know is that I would like to get two 12in kickers or 10in

Answer
Full installation anywhere from $200+, I'd say realistically $300-$500+ just for the installation. Also depends whose doing it, and where.
