Logitech X-230 Speakers (No sound)?

Undisputed

I recently purchased a Dell XPS 720 Computer. It just arrived today, and I've been setting everything up on it. My operating system is Windows XP.

I inserted the single green jack, into the only green slot among the audio connections on the back of my XPS 720. Everything on my system is running just fine, and Im waiting for my game to finish updating to play...

I attempted to play a youtube video while waiting, and heard no sound. I tried to troubleshoot, but with no success. The speakers make a buzzing noise when I first insert them into the computer, but it stops when I push it all the way in.

During the trouble shooting process, I also could not even find the logitech speakers. It's as if the computer is not recognizing them or something. I only have SB X-Fi Audio set for sound default...

The speakers are powered, and turned on, with the light lite up!

If anyone could please give me some information, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks in advance!

Answer
These speakers you have, does it have a mp3 cradle that came along with it. If you plugged the cable for the mp3 into the wrong place on the cradle it will cause your issue.. As long as you have audio drivers installed you should be fine.

Does anyone know where to get the drivers for logitech speaker X-230?

texan.1800

I have tried the logitech website but it doesnt have the drivers so where else can i get the drivers???
thank you =D

Answer
Drivers are for the sound device on your computer. Either it's a sound chipset soldered to the motherboard,(Onboard or also called Integrated), or it's a sound card plugged into one of your expansion slots on the motherboard. You can go to the computer manufacturer's support page, for drivers for an Integrated sound device, or to the sound card manufacturers driver download page for drivers. If you can't find it, email me,(Click on my avatar, and email Chickster), and tell me what computer maker it is, what model it is, and what Operating System. (Example: Windows XP.Home or Pro doesn't matter.) I'll find the exact page, and give you the link to it. (Plus tell you how to download it, and install)

Is there any way of using logitech x-230 speakers without the subwoofer?

marky

I've blown the subwoofer. Can i make in modification to the speakers to use them without the subwoofer? If a buy a new x-230 set, can i connect the 2 extra speakers in tandem?

Answer
If the subwoofer won't power on there is no way to amplify the speakers with it. If you have an old stereo receiver stored somewhere you can use that to amplify the speakers. If you buy the new set I do not recommend trying to use the old speakers with it as this would drop the resistance too low and likely blow the new subwoofer. If you wired the old speakers "in series" this would raise the resistance too high and you would likely have to turn the volume quite high and the sound would be distorted. I think you have two options here:

1) Buy a new system and store the old L & R speakers. You may find them useful sometime.

2) Use an old stereo reciever to drive the old Logitech speakers. This option would also involve buying a mini plug to two RCA plugs cable at Radio Shack.

I`m using logitech x-230 speaker. I need to swap my left speaker to right speaker and my right speaker to my left speaker. Is there any software that can do this without any wiring or hardware change?
Not sure why you just can't switch your speakers to either side of your monitor?

well, for the x-320 speaker, the headphone jack and the volume is in the right of the speaker, but i want it on the left so i can control the volume easily from my bed when im listening to music(my bed is on the left side. please help me
someone please???

Answer
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2,CONTENTID=9066

The best you are going to be able to do with this system is to simply move the right speaker nearest your bed and left speaker away from the bed. This will still leave the channels reversed, so you can go into control panel, and reverse the channels there.

I'm looking to buy a nice pair of speakers for my laptop what to get? Need Good Bass & Quality.. $80 or less?

I currently own Logitech X 230 but they broke a wire problem so i need a new pair

What is a good computer to purchase for the following uses?

I use Microsoft Word pretty often, and use Kodak easy share frequently. Other than that I check my email or do research on the web, and I like to download music. That is really all I use it for. I want to find a relatively cheap computer that will work well for these things (mine is old and bogged down). Any advice? Thanks.

Answer
Laptop or Desktop?

The most demanding thing on your computer is the operating system, Vista home Premium. You may want a larger hard drive for your music / picture files.

New Desktop Computer Checklist:
Vista home premium (do not get Vista Basic)
Dual processor (any)
1-2 GB RAM (2 GB much better) with 2 memory slots free
DVD/ CD burner with dual layer DVD capability
Integrated Audio OK
Integrated Video OK but make sure it has a PCI Express X16 slot to allow upgrading video later.
200 GB hard drive or larger for your music/ picture files
10/100 Ethernet port (pretty much standard)

Dimension E521 $699
http://www.dell.com/content/products/features.aspx/dimen_advanced?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs
AMD Athlon⢠64 X2 Dual-Core 3800+ 2GB RAM 250 GB Hard drive
Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio No speakers
19" Monitor NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE Integrated Graphics

Speakers
Logitech X-230 32 watts RMS 2.1 Black Speaker System $33.99

If your you can use your existing monitor and speakers you could save some money.

How good is the Logitech X-230 system?

Commando J

Im getting 2.1 channel speakers for my computer, don't bother suggesting 5.1, don't ask why. I was wondering if they were a better choice than the X-240 as i don't need the ipod dock.
Is the logitech X-230 a good choice? I do a bit of gaming, and listen to music every now and then , is it a good choice?
just to fix up what i said before:
"i was wondering if the X-230 is better than the -240"

Answer
go with the x-240 even though you do not need the ipod dock the x-240 has digital out and the x-230 does not.

Logitech X 230 Speakers - Can I blow them by pumping hz to high?

Q. OK i have these speakers:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-230-multimedia-speaker-system/dp/B000FTNA3K

===========
I was wondering if i have a song that pumps the hz can I blow my bass. I am wondering if they have a limit of hz it can handle. I tried searching but got nothing.

Answer
Your question is, shall we say .... ambiguous.

What does "pumps the hz" mean? And "limit of hz"?

The nearest thing I can think of to your "hz" is Hz, which is the abbreviation for frequency.

If that is what you mean, then your "limit of hz it can handle" is given in the advertisement.
It is stated, stupidly, after "Media Included Qty:" as 40 - 20000 Hz.

40 to 20,000Hz is the range of frequencies which that 'speaker system will reproduce.
If you apply frequencies outside that range, no harm will be done to them.

Risk of damage will come from applying too much power: much more than 6 watts to either of the two satellite 'speakers or much more than 20 to the bass one.
