Are there any blu ray home theater systems like this right now? Preferably with the tall front speakers. Thanks.

This system has tall front speakers, wireless, and is Blu-ray as well. I'm not a fan of these systems, but if that's what you want it's more than adequate. I've bought from these people before and their customer service is the best. No surround speaker is 100% wireless. It still needs power and that will require you plug it in somehow. Speakers that are wireless tend to have issues with getting a full signal and limited frequencies. They have not or have ever been recommended. Good luck!

It is an option to have the wireless rear speakers for that system, I have the DAV-HDX589W Bravia system (which comes standard with the wireless speakers), and its pretty good (its also the best DVD Bravia system Sony has now) But if you are looking for an Upconvert DVD system with S-Air (wireless rear speakers) than id get the Sony. It has pretty good bass (for such a small woofer) and the sound with movies is awesome! The picture is also pretty awesome when using HDMI cables =)

I need a very inespensive speaker system. The ideal system would be wireless.
Basically what I want to do is have these speakers play music either from my laptop or cd player, and wirelessly be placed in my kitchen, living room and basement. I think 6 speakers would be ideal.

I would like to spend around $100 because these will be used only 1-2 times. Every thing I have found is really expensive, or doesn't suit my needs.

That is such a goofy speaker set up and a first for me.

OK here is what is going on. This is a powered speaker set with no Dolby decoder. It will accept for surround only 3 sets of RCA's from a DVD player. I will include a link to a DVD player that has theses so you know what to look for. Make sure to look at the back panel image.

This speaker set is really just a modified PC set of speakers.( note the three mini to RCAs adapters only available in the box mind you).

If you don't want to get a new DVD player you can get a home theater receiver with what ever digital audio connection you have, as long as the receiver has pre outs to hook up to the speaker set. Will include a link to the one that has this.But that is counter intuitive to buying a powered speaker set.

Your only other option is to hook to up to a PC with the correct 5.1 sound card.

If it is a new purchase I suggest take it back and get a 5.1 system that will work with your existing equipment.

PS also look up white van scam I think you may have been had.

You're not going to find what you are looking for. For wireless speakers to work, you must have a wireless receiver. You can't simply transmit your laptop's sound directly to a wireless speakers. You will have to connect your laptop to a wireless surround sound receiver and then the audio will be transmitted from the receiver to the speakers.

Having said that, there are quite a few reasons for staying away from wireless speakers. For the most part, these systems are a gimick.

First is that "wireless" speakers aren't truly wireless. While the audio signal my be transmitted wirelessly, the speaker still need power in order to function. This means that each speaker will need an AC outlet. This in itself can be a big inconvenience. Not only can it be unsightly, but you might not have power outlets where you need your speakers.

Another reason is signal interference. There are many devices out there that can cross-talk with your wireless speakers. Some of these devices are cell phones, wireless alarm systems, and other wireless speaker systems. If a neighbor next to your condo also has a wireless system, you may end up pulling your hair out. And I can almost guarantee that you have a cell phone, right?

Dirty power is another issue that many people face after getting their new wireless surround sound system home. Dirty power is a rapidly fluctuating power feed and can be cause by almost anything that has a motor, such as refrigerators, washers and dryers, and more. If these components are on the same circuit as your surround sound then the amplifiers inside of each speaker will simply amplify that dirty power and you will get a dirty audio signal.

While it's almost impossible to completely get rid of dirty power, you can use power filters at each wall outlet to help tame the fluctuation. Unfortunately these power filters are about $50 each and look a bit like a short extension cord or surge protector.

In the end, what you may be looking at instead of a few thin speaker wires, which happen to be fairly easy to hide, is a bunch of speakers plugged into power filters which are then plugged into several power outlets around the room. And after all of this, your audio will more than likely suck.

And as I pointed out earlier. You would still need to connect your laptop to your receiver, so the laptop would no longer be wireless.

how to get my 2008 dodge grand caravan VES to play through wireless headphones not the speaker system?

My van has 2 DVD screens and 2 wireless headphones and my van is currently in a shared mode where you can hear the DVD through the speaker system. The VES manual says you can turn that off so you can hear radio through the speakers and the DVD through the headphones, however, it does not explain how to turn this share off or on. Help?

I just got headphones for my 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan from AudioVideo2go and had the same problem. The remote controller has a little headphone icon on it. You have to press that to turn the headphones on. Once you press that headphone button a little headphone icon will appear on the radio. after that, the headphones will receive a wireless signal. :) Hope that helps!

I know you need the speakers, but what else do i need to create a wireless speaker system for a patio that gets music from an iPod or the radio. (Ex: Receiver, Remote, Amplifier, etc.)

Aside from an enclosure, the speaker(s) and a cross over you will need some form of amplification to get the signal from the receiver. Once you have sorted out the wireless component (ie. the sending and receiving) try to find either a powered speaker or source a small audio amplification kit (not too hard to build) from E-bay.
Keep in mind, you will need to provide some form of power to this unit.

Nothing sounds better then a Bose. You are not likely to get "great" sound for $250. I could be wrong through. However Bose does offer a small home theater system that will give you great sound with out be "blasted" by it. It is $499 however Bose offers a interest free payment plan. They take out a monthly charge to your credit card automatically with out charging you interest for 12 mos making it more affordable! I provided a link below if you want to check it out. I have the samsung GS3 and my gf has an iphone, and i am looking for a "bose-like" speaker system that can play both through wireless or bluetooth means.

any suggestions are greatly appreciated but i would like to keep the price down to a reasonable amount. <2-hundo.

"bose-like" does that mean you want something that is overpriced junk?

All kidding aside. If you are after the best sound quality get a good set of speakers (preferably with a built in Amp). Then connect it to a wireless or bluetooth streaming module.

For the speakers I'd recommend AudioEngine A2 or A5s.

For streaming I'd get an Airport Extreme for your GFs iPhone. If you want bluetooth get one of these
