outdoor speaker/radio system?

im looking for a radio system to put by riding ring where i ride my horses.
we just want a radio that we could keep either in the barn or near the ring and have speakers set up by the ring so that we could listen to the radio while riding.
ive seen this before where people have the radio in their house and the speakers are like outside on teh patio or something.
i was just wondering how i could do this and approx. what the price would be.

There are alot of wireless speakers on the market. I'm sure you can find them on e bay , radio shack , Best buy ect... I have them and they are great !!!! Didn't have to run wires and can move them around whenever I need to. Can take to parties ,camping...... They even have them disguised as rocks. I think I paid around $80. Mine run off my Ipod which gives me radio and my personal music collection.

What is the best soundcard on the market?

I've been using onboard sound for the last year or 2 for my comp. & I've been saving up for a soundcard. So with that in mind what soundcard would you recommend for my computer? Keep in mind I value quality of sound vs. distintion between speakers (since I only have a 2.1 speaker system. I mainly play Halo 2 & listen to MP3's and watch videos on my comp.

On board sound are good enough if you have only 2.1 Speakers. But if you must, Sound Blaster X-FI Series is a good choice. They are range from around $70 to $179, depends on which model you pick.

Is there a completely wireless surround sound, home theater, system on the market?

There are plenty of rear speaker, wireless systems on the market does any manufacturer make a wireless or bluetooth system? I am looking for all 5 speakers to be wire free..

Weather or not there is would be a moot point, because wireless speakers are a tremendously bad idea!
1) If the speakers ARE truly wireless, then you need to constantly feed batteries to each speaker to power the individual amplifiers, at GREAT eventual cost to you!
2) If they are externally powered, then they need to be plugged in, so there goes your "completely wireless" system to begin with.
3) Have you ever talked on a cordless phone while walking through the house, only to find the 1 spot where the sound quality dropped dramatically? Well, wireless speakers run on the same frequencies and the more signals you flood your house with, the more likely you are to create frequency interference, thus, poor sound quality.
4) Wireless signals are normally frequency clipped (highs and lows eliminated) to save bandwidth, which makes for a very efficient transmission of signals, but very poor audio quality......

I could go on and on. but the simple answer is, I am sure there are "completely wireless home theater systems" out there, but you will NOT be pleased with them, even the BEST quality system will be inferior to a moderate quality wired system!

I have always wanted a Bose anything because I love the quality and sound from everything they have done. I know they can be a bit spendy. If there are some home theater speakers from other well known and reliable brands that work just as well I am definitely all ears. I am just in the market of buying a really great speaker system!

Call into any real Hi-Fi store and they will show you any number of speakers which will out perform Bose for considerably less money, a few that spring instantly to mind are Bowers and Wilkins, Dali Ikon and Tannoy.

Don't buy into the 'Bose are best because they're expensive' ideal.

Bose aren't expensive, they're dear, there is a difference.

How to pick a good in ceiling speaker system?

I'm trying to pick a good speaker system for a limited budget. What is good out there? Is fibre glass speaker better? I see $30 speakers and $300 speakers. Do they really differ that much in quality?

What this comes down to is what your ears can tell. Go listen to speakers of varying type, make, model, and cost. Buy the one THAT you think sounds best relative to what you want to spend. Can I hear the difference between $30 and $300? Yes. Can you? I dont know. I listened to a pair of $100,000 speakers last week and I could hear a huge difference between those and a pair of $8000 speakers. Now is it worth $92,000 more? Maybe if I crapped $100 bills. You get the point..buy what you think sounds good, but dont be fooled by marketing or brand. Trust your ears, not the salesman.

This was brought to my attention in my last question. Is there much of a difference between Polk RM705 or the Polk RM6750 speaker systems. At polkaudio.com they are the same price but on other internet stores the 705s are more. Is there a reason to pay more for the 705s?

A given selling price on the same item can vary by a lot, depending on the specific circumstances of the seller.
It can also be that the power priced item is of last year's product lineup, and the higher priced item is of this year's lineup. Audio companies do also market based on year, just like car makers.

Last year I got a pair of Infinity Beta 50 floorstanding speakers, list price $500 each, for $180 each.
Other buyers whose reviews I read on line and who were very happy with them, had paid the $500 each price, and were happy for it. So, you can imagine that I was even happier for having paid over 60% less. I just got the best deal. Thats all.

In any case, since the two Polk systems are quite comparable in quality and performance, with the main difference being the styling, so if a price conscious person wants the best deal, and is happy with the appearance of the 6750 system, then thats clearly the best deal of the two.

On amazon, the 705 will run you about $445, and the 6750 will run $265. Both have list prices of $600. Plus, I like the look of the 6750s more, anyway.

Does a built in home theater system add much resale value to condo or home?

I want to install a 7.1 channel speaker system in my condo. This would include 7 speakers mounted in the ceiling and a flat screen tv mounted on the wall. I want to know if this will increase the resale value of my condo very much in the midwest. Will the resale value increase the same or more than the amount I put into the system?

In this dismal market, I would have to agree with lahn. It may not help much at appraisal time, but when there's 5 houses on your block for sale, and you have a nice theater, you have a leg up on the others. You might get a higher offer, you might be more likely to sell.

We completed a home automation system for a client that wanted to sell last spring. There were 12 homes for sale in their neighborhood the day they put theirs on the market. Two days later they had a decent offer and 3 days after that, they opened escrow. All the houses were nice, several had pools, only one was automated.

first off, i will use speakers, mainly for my computer/ipod with ROCK music, so they need a headphone jack and they need to sound VERRYYY good! ok now i was thinking of getting the bose Companion® 5 multimedia speaker system for $399 but everyone online is saying other people make basically the same sounding thing for half the price. i just want a very very good speaker system and yes it can be pricey. please just inform me on what the best speakers are.

Best speakers for your computer/ iPod music use would be a pair of good monitor speakers - especially if space is not a concern.
Monitors/ pro monitors are made for accurate sound reproduction: used by musicians, dj-mixing artists, guitarists, etc ; to achieve *accurate* representation of what they are producing/ recording...
To them, high quality sound fidelity is their focus.
And ONLY Pro Monitor style active speakers can live up to this task... These active speakers all have dedicated tweeters and decent sized woofers: anywhere from 4" to 8" that are mostly made of a type of carbon fiber or aluminum.
These speakers are always powered buy multiple integrated amps: one for each driver: so in a 2.0 monitor system, there are usually 4amps total: two inside each speaker.

So what can these Monitor speakers do for you??
Well, you asked for best: for music, a good speaker system will reproduce your recordings/ music with 100%(or close to) accuracy: and give you what the original artist:singer:recording studio INTENDED For you to hear.: their music.

Lesser systems won't and can't do this because they do not have the dedicated tweeters, multiple amps, quality drivers, or components.

And best of all is that: although these types of speakers are not well known to the general public, and is a smaller market vs the consumer end audio... There are still lots of brands/options; which means that the prices are controlled by "competition".
Bottom line is that you get quality,accuracy,fidelity for fair prices- similar or even lower than the Bose companion5: Which is in comparison is inaccurate, bloated, fatiguing, bad build/material quality, etc- I can go on and on-- but one note I cannot miss is that these $400 speakers do NOT have any dedicated TWEETERS!wow.

Look at speakers that are sold in music stores, guitar shops etc.
