Speakers for my room?

jrk556

I am looking for a kick but speaker system for my room... nothing expensive the cheaper the better somthing that can play my ipod and play my gamesystems

Answer
get a HTIB system isn't expensive and its great for small rooms and they came with everything you need.

http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&tag=mozilla-20&index=blended&link%5Fcode=qs&field-keywords=htib&sourceid=Mozilla-search

if you want only speakers you will probably expend more money on it than the whole HTIB system, i have seen system for $300 and i mean good system.

remember you need 5 speakers and 1 subwoofer so do the math.

a HTIB came with the receiver 5 speakers, 1 subwoofer, remote sometimes universal, features like ipod ready (some models) and dvd player integreted .

you can always get an ipod dock connect to the system
some HTIB brands have their own ipod dock to work with the system.

Room Sound System????/?

dann_1245

Ok so i want to make a sound system for my room, its fairly small...10 by 20ft . I don't know anything about speakers and receivers so info might help a bit. what type of receiver or amplifier should i use and how many speakers can i connect for good sound and base.

Answer
Hey,. My answer is a little bit different than the previous answer. I am pretty serious about my audio and video and what i would suggest is to buy high quality audio. It's all a part of the experience. Unlike TV's or other components, speakers don't really change that much over time, high end audio now is still going to be high end audio 20 years from now. As technology changes, you will be changing part of your audio system as well. For example, the new blu-ray format does DTS HD and Dolby True HD, if you purchase a system which does not decode this, it is pretty much already obsolete since that is the next step for audio. Also, stay away from those Home Theater in a Box systems, they don't allow for expansion in the future and will eventually have you buying a new system once new technology comes out. Also, try to stay away from big box stores for audio, go to a local audio shop and they can build the right system for you. Bix box stores only care about how much product they push out the door, not how happy you are.

Also, what type of receiver depends on what you're using it for. if you are using this setup to run a cd or a turntable, you will be better off buying a higher end two tower speaker and subwoofer package. If it is for a surround sound system on tv, think about the future, and where you want to see your sound system 10 years from now. cheers

Coby - 1000W 5.1-Channel Home Theater System with DVD/DivX Player

Answer
No! Coby is cheap imported garbage. I assure you that you will not like them & will eventually throw them away. This is a much better speaker system (see below).

What is a good speaker system that has an auxiliary port for my HTC and will make a small room bump?

Dip in my

Title says it all, but I'm just looking for a nice speaker system to put into my room for when I listen to music, I want my room to have a little bump to it from them, and I have a very small room so it shouldn't be to hard, it also needs to have an auxiliary port so that I can plug my phone into it, prices don't matter but preferably somewhat cheap

Answer
Grab this: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MHCEC909iP-Hi-Fi-Shelf-System/dp/B003GZDB1Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370457814&sr=8-1&keywords=sony+mini+hifi It is a very good system. I use it for my computer. It has a subwoofer (that you can turn on and off). On the downside, I do not believe that it pushes the full 540 watts RMS it claims, but it is VERY loud.

i have a room that is probably 10x10 and i want the ultimate surround sound system for a small room but i want it to look badass and i want it to be worth my money. but i want sony only bc i am a huge sony fan. anyone help thanks

Answer
I know this isn't sony, but its the most badass sound system on earth: Bose Video Wave. What it is, is about 16 directional speakers on the top of a Bose Video Wave LCD TV that projects sound to different parts of your room. It is an amazing sound system without all the cluttered speakers. IT IS AMAZING. go to your local bose store and ask for a demo, you'll be blown away. All it is is a TV.

Is there a wireless speaker that I can use for iPhone, computer (Spotify, Netflix) and television?

J

I don't know ANYTHING about speaker systems. I am moving into a new apartment that has a great room which will be perfect for entertaining.

I think it would be nice to have a speaker or small speaker set in the room that I can use to:

(1) play music from my iPhone while I cook or entertain;
(2) play music from my computer (Spotify) while I cook or entertain;
(3) play sound from my computer when I want to watch a movie on Netflix;
(4) play sound from my TV when I want to watch a show or movie.

Is there ONE wireless speaker/speaker set I can use for all of these purposes? Or do I have to buy different speakers for each device?

Thank you in advance!

Answer
You could do it with one speaker no problem. I'd look at getting a pair of active speakers like the AudioEngine A5+ speakers. Then pair them with an AirportExpress for Airplay and connect them to your TV.

what the different between active and passive speaker?

aznandy200

i'm competing with my friend on speaker system. does anyone know what the best i can do what 1 grand? i was planning to get a professional speaker. do you think they sound good in small room?

Answer
An active speaker has the amp built into it. Many active speakers actually have two amps; one for the low end and one for the high frequencies. A passive speaker requires a power amp or receiver to operate. I would steer clear of pro audio gear for a home theater. The best you can do with a thousand dollars is the best sounding system to your ears that you can afford-it all comes down to personal taste.
